Riding Lesson applications now available

Basic Riding

Basic riding consists of enrolling in a weekly program on well-schooled horses with experienced Instructors.

They may start in private lessons to establish confidence, building trust, proper position, safe handling, strength and correct aids.

Students will learn proper grooming, saddling, & foot care.

This program is your cheapest and safest way for a beginner to feel comfortable and to gain knowledge on what it takes to become a partner with a horse.

In time you will build and increase self-confidence and feel self-satisfaction.

Disciplines

If a student is happy and content and would like to continue with lessons they are welcomed to stay in the basic program until we all agree that they have achieved a level of advancement. Once a student has been brought to that level options will be discussed, for example Dressage, Hunter, Western, Drilling, Vaulting, Competing, or Performing. The cost and commitment to the advanced lessons will also be discussed at this time.

Little Wrangler Classes

This specially designed class is for 4-5year olds that are accompanied by a parent or grandparent. The little Wrangler and their parent/grandparent will learn how to move safely around the horse, groom the horse and then the wrangler will have a pony ride. This is a great bonding opportunity and just enough time for the Little Wrangler to get comfortable and spend special time with their horse. 1/2 private class.

Dressage​

Where horse and rider are expected to perform from memory a series of predetermined movements.

Hunter/Jumper

Show hunters, ideally, show many qualities such as manners, fluid movement, and correct jumping style.

Western Style

Horses trained to exercise a certain degree of independence thus a riding style developed that emphasized a deep, secure seat, and training methods encouraged a horse to be responsive on very light leg and rein contact.

Equestrian Vaulting

Gymnastics on horseback and on floor, is also used for balance, attention, gross motor skill, confidence and pure fun.

Equestrian Drilling

An equestrian drill team is a group of horses and riders performing choreographed maneuvers to music. Teams typically perform at rodeos, horse fairs, parades, benefits, and drill team competitions. Drill teams are intended to entertain, show sportsmanship, horsemanship, teamwork and dedication.

University Students New To Riding Specials

 $40.00  HST included and the use of a helmet & boots. University costs so much, limiting your funds to try new things, this offer is for new students who would love to try lessons but could not afford them without a discount. Students will start with the basics and move accordingly to skill level and commitment. Join in the fun, great confidence builder and good for the soul!

Lazee G Ranch has a team of great instructors trained in Western & English, Drilling, Jumping & Dressage.

Jamie (Gagnon) Laing

Jamie has been riding and competing since she was 2yrs of age, her first competitive pony was Dusty who she ran barrels and gamed her when ever she could. For 10yrs she competed in the Western world. She has also been involved in the Wind Rider Challenge, this is a combination competition, riders perform English and Western riding techniques and compete against riders from all over North America. Jamie holds 2 titles, 3rd place from London and 1st place from Clinton Ontario, we are very proud of her and her team of riders. Jamie started English riding and never turned back, she has had several opportunities to ride and compete many different horses. Her horse Roxy has won many awards. She also carries her NCCP Coaching Card, and went to school in Oklahoma where she became a certified farrier.

Hanna (Gagnon) Colenutt

Hanna rode her first pony Scout into competitions at the age of 2yrs old. She has had the opportunity to ride many horses through out her career. Riding western has always been a favorite choice for her but enjoys English riding too. Hanna has had the opportunity to train many horses for the Lazee G Ranch program and has worked with hundreds of students. Hanna is a paramedic and volunteers many hours with the Silver Stars Precision Drill Team.

Hanna Colenutt (Gagnon) & Jamie Laing (Gagnon) have both taken their Rider levels through the Ontario Equestrian Federation. Both girls rode and travelled with the Canadian Riding Team the Canadian Cowgirls they also have had the honour to have lessons with one of the top African-American riders in the history of equestrian show jumping, Equestrian Chris Ewing. We are also proud of Hanna & Jamie for their great Instructor abilities bringing the Lazee G Ranch Silver Stars to a 1st Place representing Canada in 2011 at the Northern Kentucky Drill Competition. Every year since putting a team of riding students together to compete and perform. All of their competitive students have shown growth, gained experience and became a confident rider.

Brenda Gagnon & Joe Gagnon

Brenda Gagnon Brenda has over 20yrs working with and training horses for pleasure, and competition. Brenda has held clinics specializing in how to make a successful drill team, facility, and gives an insight on how horses think. She has taught thousands of students and prides herself for creating programs that promote safe and educational instructions. She loves what she does!

It is important to note that Brenda, Hanna, and Jamie work closely with the other great instructors at Lazee G Ranch.

Many of the students from Lazee G Ranch have had the opportunity to compete at different levels of competition from In-house shows, Off property shows, Trillium and A Circuit, and have also performed in front of crowds of thousands.

The facility, coaches and students are recognized throughout the equine community for their standards, positive attitude, and commitment to the sport.
